Are you a UX/UI designer with commercial experience in digital product design? Can you design prototypes using Sketch, Marvel, or Invision? Do you have some knowledge of HTML and CSS?
Ideally, we are seeking a senior UX designer who is comfortable working with clients directly, who can run UX research workshops and can run with a project from inception to implementation. However, we would also consider top-end UX designers who show promise and come with a strong portfolio and are looking to progress.
This UX/UI design job is based in Belfast City Centre and comes with a salary of £30k - £60k (depending on experience) and it will give you a chance to work on a wide range of projects from Chatbots to Mobile Apps. Highly flexible working arrangements are available including optional remote working up to 3 days a week.
Who is the company?
My client is a young company that focuses on digital product development. They are experts in product management and strategy including user research, design, analytics and optimisation. Essentially, they are a digital product studio who partner with global businesses to startups to ensure that they keep ahead of the competition.
They have just secured two major contracts which have prompted the current recruitment drive. One of these contracts is with a major sports organisation based in Ireland. My client will be designing and developing a mobile application which will generate around 200 million euros over the next three years. If projections are correct, one in four people in Ireland will be using this application once it is completed and rolled out.
What is the working environment like?
They boast of a highly flexible and relaxed working environment that has a competitive and ambitious undercurrent. Designers are expected to manage their own time effectivity. There will be no micromanaging here. Designers are also given the freedom to work with technology that they think will benefit a particular project. They have a very flat structure in place and keep meetings to an absolute minimum. They prefer their designers to actually be designing digital products.
If you successfully gain employment with this company, you will be joining a first-class talent pool who work on top-end global projects in a collaborative and fun environment. Designers are encouraged to take the lead, work autonomously and have fun while doing it.
What skills are essential for this job?
The successful UX/UI designer will need to have at least 3 years’ commercial experience in web or digital product design. This experience must include collaborating with cross-functional teams to help deliver world-class digital solutions. Designers must also be efficient with front-end code such as HTML, CSS and GIT but please note that emphasis in this job will be on UX/UI design. You must be proficient in Sketch but we may consider an alternative such as Marvel or Invision. A strong portfolio of work will be needed.
