Software Tester (Automation, Java) - Belfast
Do you have 3-5 years’ experience in both automation and manual testing?
Does this experience include the use of Java, JavaScript, Selenium, Gherkin, Cucumber, and TestNG?
We are looking for a software tester to continue developing and executing automated and manual tests to ensure product quality for a specialist product designed for the financial services sector.
You’ll be testing a Java-based web application that offers cross-browser support.  The Front-End is powered by a sophisticated JavaScript-based framework.
You’ll be designing tests, implementing automated tests as well as running manual tests, some debugging and defining corrective actions.
You will also review system requirements, specifications and technical designs to provide meaningful feedback.
You will be ensuring the quality of all areas of the product from the back-end to the front-end.
Plus, this will be the first hire of a brand-new testing team in Belfast.  The first hire will have a massive advantage in terms of career progression.
You’ll be joining a global company that gives its customers the clarity they need to take control of all their market data, research, software and enterprise subscription spend across the enterprise.  They are headquartered in New York with offices in London, Den Bosch, Belfast, and Minneapolis.
In June 2019, they bought over a local Belfast company.  This is the third acquisition this company has made in the last 3 years.  They now employ over 150 people worldwide.
Although they supply software into financial services and they have been doing this since 1998, they still manage to maintain the seem energy of a start-up.  They have a flat structure with no red tape, and they like to give as much autonomy to their technical staff as possible.
We would like to see applications from software testers with a strong background in software QA methodologies and processes.  You must be able to write test cases in a structured form (preferably using the Gherkin language).  You will need experience using test frameworks and automation tools (preferably Selenium, Cucumber, TestNG).  A working knowledge of core Java, JavaScript and SQL is needed.
