Software Architect (Ruby) – Belfast
Do you want to help bring Manchester United back to its former glory?
That’s right you read that correctly. You’ll be the Software Architect on a sports performance platform that’s currently with Manchester United Football Club.
In fact, the platform is also being tested by Ulster Rugby and Boston College NCAA Hockey. Our client also has 100 other elite sports clubs in the pipeline to use the platform once it is completed.
So, what exactly is the product?
This platform is the brainchild of Andrew Trimble. If you don’t recognise the name, Google it.
Andrew is a local sports hero who was at the top of his game in the Rugby world. Now moved his focus to building an innovative Sports technology company.
Communication is key to all successful teams, but Andrew realised it could be improved with the clever use of technology.
Players and clubs contend with a cluttered landscape of ever-changing player and team schedules, meeting times, gym requirements, equipment, and medical appointments. This causes a distraction in a player which affects their optimal performance come match day.
This platform optimises the performance of professional athletes by providing them with a structured tool to engineer and own their bespoke medical, athletic and skill requirements. These features are delivered simultaneously alongside real-time insights allowing the athlete to attain peak performance on game day.
Critical to the success of this platform is the appointment of a Software Architect. You’ll be a proven leader, experienced in building an effective development team and developing an open & high performing culture that will run through the entire company. You’ll create architectural approaches for software design and implementation and guide the development team. You’ll be focused, resilient, fast-paced and keen to code as well as lead. If you have a track record of operating Continuous Delivery pipelines, that would be a big bonus.
