We are seeking both Server-side and Web Developers at either intermediate or senior level for a software house based in Belfast. Salary is circa £30k - £45k per annum (depending on experience) and includes 25 days holiday, a day off for a birthday, healthcare, free fruit for office on a Monday, company activities and more.
Who is the client?
This firmly established software house has been operating out of Northern Ireland for over 25 years. Around 10 years ago they developed a mobile workforce enablement platform that really changed the direction of the company and made them one of the major software houses in Belfast.
The whole ethos of this mobile platform is to help people do more of the work that matters. It is used by health providers, local government and organisations across the private and public sectors, it ensures that your field workforce has access to all the information they require, via an intuitive mobile app, to get the job done. It ensures that organisations increase employee productivity, maximises time spent with clients, reduces the cost of field service delivery, reduces employee travel time and much more.
In 2015, a London-based capital firm bought a stack in this software house. This firm has an excellent track record of growing successful global firms and cements the future of the company. They now employ over 170 people locally but still maintain a very supportive and collaborative working environment. Many of the senior staff has been with the company for a long time which provides stability in the workforce.
What does this software development job involve?
The successful developers will work in an agile team, developing solutions using specific technologies and designs depending on the project. These technologies usually comprise of C#, .NET core, REST API, Swagger, Angular, Bootstrap, SQL Azure, Microservices, Azure Functions, Azure Bus, Docker or other team selected polyglot solutions. They do operate under the AGILE methodology including sprint planning, sizing from elaborated stories, daily stand-ups, shift-left automated testing, demos and retrospectives. All applications developed are fully cloud active under a mindset of continuous deployment.
What skills are essential?
To really stand out from the crowd, we would love to see applications from software developers with exposure to Azure or AWS. Docker, Kubernetes, Azure Container Instances, Postman, Newman would also be desired skills.
