Your next employer could be a forward-thinking construction industry company in Co Antrim who are looking for a qualified accountant to join their team on a fixed-term contract of around 10 months due to maternity cover. The current accountant doesn't work on a Monday but provided you can do 33 hours, there will be some flexibility on how this is made up to suit both you and the company.
With more than 60 years' expertise in its field, they work on luxury projects across retail, hotels/hospitality and corporate with clients including the Shangri-La Hotel at The Shard and Hamleys. They were named as one of Ireland's Best Managed Companies in the 2019 Deloitte awards of the same name and last year won a national industry award for their work on The Harp Bar in Cathedral Quarter.
Staff turnover is very low and that's for a good reason; people are treated really well and employee well-being is important to management. They have family fun days throughout the year, a monthly bacon/sausage/(vegan) butties morning and a friendly supportive working environment.
The role itself will involve overseeing the work of 4 accounts support staff and you'll report into the company accountant. You'll prepare the trial balance, look after statutory returns for UK, Republic of Ireland and EU, manage the work in progress calculations and get reports ready for board meetings as well as providing support in other functions where required.
You'll ideally have some experience within the construction industry as well as having experience with Sage 100/200 and obviously, you'll have experience in a similar role.
