Do you have at least 3-5 years experience managing the delivering of technology-based projects using the agile methodology? Do you have experience managing designers and developers?
This Project/Delivery Manager job is based in Belfast City center and comes with a salary of £60k - £70k per annum. Not only would you be joining a progressive digital product firm but you will be working on some of the top brands and companies that operate on a global scale.
Who is the company?
My client is a young company based in Belfast that focuses on digital product development. They are experts in product management and strategy including user research, design, analytics and optimisation. Essentially, they are a digital product studio who partner with global businesses to start-ups to ensure that they keep ahead of the competition.
They are one of the best-kept secrets in the digital community here in Belfast. Although they are relatively new to the industry some of their products are already in use by over 350 million people. They work with global brands that operate across retail, sports, financial services and more.
They have just secured two major contracts which has prompted the current recruitment drive across sales, project management, design and development. They are now in a position where they need a top Project/Delivery Manager to head up operations and to ensure that all projects have been costed and delivered effectively, exceeding customer expectation while remaining within timescales and budget.
What does this job involve?
As already mentioned, the main function of this job is to ensure all projects have been costed and delivered on time and to budget. There is also a commercial element to this job as you will be expected to help identify, win and retain customers assisting in the achievement of corporate revenue targets. You will also be managing the design and development teams that are already in place while overseeing the recruitment over future appointments in these areas.
What skills and experience are needed?
The successful Project/Delivery Manager will have at least 3-5 years of demonstrable success managing the delivering of technology-based projects using the agile methodology combined with a good understanding of scoping projects and a high-level view of tech stacks. You will need direct experience managing and leading a team that is made up of software developers and UX designers. We would consider a technical or creative lead who is seeking a new challenge in a slightly different area.
Since there is also a commercial element to this job you will need experience of developing and managing sound client-supplier relationships. Your experience must also cover a broad range of technology and you will need to showcase an awareness of current technology trends and a sound understanding of contemporary software engineering practices. Part of this job will be to prepare and submit tenders.
