PHP Developer – Belfast (£30k - £40k)
Exclusive to Corvus
Autonomy within software development is rare.
Most developers must work within a set tech stack and don’t get a lot of say in the technical direction of a company.
With this job, you can collaborate with the lead developer to update and maintain a current web application while working to replace that with a more up-to-date cloud-based system.
This is a multiyear project that would give you the opportunity to really stamp your authority on the technical direction of a company that is a household name throughout Northern Ireland.
You must have a high proficiency in PHP and MySQL to be considered for this job, but this should not be the limit of your interests. The new cloud-based system will give you a chance to embrace new technologies such as Kubernetes, Docker Containerisation and more. The new language hasn’t been set yet, but you would be involved in this conversation and asked to contribute as much as possible to the tech stack and how it might look.
The web application you would be working on as over 40,000 visitors per day and used by 600 other companies throughout Northern Ireland. My client is also building a major presence in Scotland. Their iPhone App is the most downloaded in the local market. They offer a broad suite of web services and services, and one of the most existing recent developments utilises artificial intelligence technology to automate live chat throughout their network.
We are quite open to the level of PHP developer who fancies this job. You need to be proficient in object-oriented PHP with a familiarity of GIT, unit testing and a good understanding of responsive design.
