This is an opportunity to secure a web development job with a company that is not only global and on a rapid upward trajectory but also designs assistive technology that makes a real difference in the world.
This job is based in Antrim and comes with a salary up to £38k per annum and comes with an extensive benefits package that includes a company pension, bonus, private health cover, gym membership, free lunches and a personal allowance for non-work-related training.
**We would also consider a top quality junior PHP developer with 1 year's commercial experience or if you an impressive portfolio of work.**
Who is the company?
This is a local company that was set up 22 years ago and employs around 160 at its state of the art custom built facility in Antrim. They create literacy and language learning software solutions to the education and corporate market sectors. These products aim to help support people who have difficulty reading and writing or those for whom English is not their first language.
My client’s products are experiencing major growth overseas, particularly in North America and the Asia Pacific region. They also sell into Europe, South America, and South Africa and recently set up a new office in Australia.
Due to the expansion of its product range, they have had to invest heavily in additional staff with new skill sets. In the last year, they have hired over 20 additional people.
What is the working environment like?
Although the company has experienced phenomenal growth they maintain a relaxed working environment. They operate with a flat structure and, although the development teams are busy, they are not put under too much stress and strain. There is room to progress. This job has come about as the developer who was is in this position has been promoted to a tech lead position after 6 months with the company.
Although this is a PHP position you will be given ample opportunity to learn a range of different languages and technologies. In fact, they tend to only hire developers who are passionate about what they do and have the desire to learn and test themselves.
What does this job involve?
This is a newly created PHP job within the company that will focus on marketing automation. Earlier in the year, my client used a 3rd party supplier for marketing automation which didn’t work out, so they decided to implement an in-house platform. The platform they have selected is called MAUTIC which will give them the ability to automate the marketing exactly to their requirements. This was put in place back in May and they assigned a developer from another team to the project. That developer must go back to their original team and hence a new PHP job was created.
What skills and experience are needed?
Ideally, we would like to see applications from PHP developers with experience using the Symfony framework and who is familiar with marketing processes.
