.NET Support Analyst

This job is not the usual application support job. This is a job for an application support engineer who enjoys interacting with customers to solve their issues with large-scale software solutions. You must enjoy ‘getting under the hood’ of software and solving complex bugs and defects while displaying a high level of communication skills to the customer and the rest of the team.

This job is based in Belfast and comes with a salary up to £35k per annum. You have the freedom of tailoring your own benefits package to your own requirements and pension (10% employer contribution) and life assurance is standard.

Who is the company?

This job in .NET application support is with a major UK wide company that provides large-scale solutions to major companies across both the public and private sectors. They employ around 3,000 people across the UK but there main IT hub is located here in Belfast. The technology stack is very much Microsoft centric and they would utilise Visual Studio and the .NET framework along with C#, MVC, and N-Tier development using ECF and Web API.

What does the job involve?

This application support job will cover the wide range of 2nd/3rd line customer support activities, under the direction of the Practice Lead. You will provide application support services to live customers via phone, email and web-based communication tools as well as advising customers on their UAT and Production releases. You will be joining a stable team of eight application support analysts, three service managers as well as linking up with a similar team in England.

The application support teamwork shifts to cover the core UK business hours of 08.00 to 18.00, Monday to Friday. There may be a requirement to provide application support outside of the normal UK working hours and weekends, via an on-call or pre-arranged basis. Flexitime is offered in this job.

What skills are essential for this job?

The successful candidate will have 2 years+ experience in a similar role supporting customers on technical, software or database related issues. You will need knowledge of at least two of the following technologies: C#/ASP.NET, MVC, N-tier development, and SQL.

You will need to be a team player with good interpersonal skills and a drive to take ownership of and responsibility for the tasks assigned to you. You will have strong written and verbal communication skills along with incident analysis skills. You may be required to successfully complete a Baseline Personnel Security Check (BPSC) and a Security Clearance (SC) check.
