Lead Front-End Developer

The number one asset in any company is their employee’s.

How a company communicates with its employee’s is becoming increasingly important.  It also becomes increasingly difficult as a company grows.

Employees can work all over the globe, at all times of the day and night, and they are always on the go.

What is the one thing all these employee’s have in common?  They all have a mobile device.

A new software house to Belfast has created a platform that allows companies to engage instantly to their workforce through alerts, push notifications, personalised mobile updates, newsletters, email, and text messages.

It goes even further than that as it allows employees to engage with each other, share wins, and become advocates for the brand.

Its clients include Fortune 500 companies such as Telefonica (O2), Volvo Group, BMW and Nestlé.

The company has its headquarters in California, and they have just opened an office in Belfast.  They have aggressive growth plans for the next 3-4 years as they plan to hire 100 people in that time.

They are now actively adding numbers to their Front-End Development team and they are seeking a JavaScript specialist to build and lead the team.  You don’t have to have team lead experience as they would consider a Senior JavaScript specialist.

You’ll spend most of your time building a new user-facing web application using the popular React framework and other state-of-the-art technologies such as ES7 and Redux.  You will own your own code from design to production and you will be given the opportunity to communicate your concepts to the rest of the team. You will use Webpack on the global web app. All this will be done within an Agile working environment as your work alongside other development teams, designers and product managers.

You will be given plenty of time to learn new skills while on the job so that you can keep your skills as sharp as possible.

Ideally, you will have at least two years’ experience using JavaScript and the React framework.  We would also consider JavaScript specialists who are experts in other frameworks such as Angular or Vue.  You’ll also be familiar with continuous integration and continuous delivery techniques.  Experience in general wizardry is a plus.

Not only will you secure a very competitive salary with his job, but you will also get the chance to get involved in these early stages, help shape the team and grow as a developer.  You will receive a pension, medical and dental cover as well as vision coverFlexible working hours come as standard and the drinks and snacks cupboards allows for unrestricted access.
