Junior Software Tester – Belfast (£25k - £30k)

Do you have at least one-year’s commercial experience in software testing?  Would you like to work in a fast-paced environment whilst working with the latest mobile technologies?

This software testing job is based in Belfast and it comes with a salary of £25k - £30k per annum.  Other benefits include share options, private healthcare, pension, childcare vouchers, and a flexible working environment.

Who is the company?

The number one asset in any company is its employees.  How a company communicates with its employee’s is becoming increasingly important.  It also becomes increasingly difficult as a company grows.

Employees can work all over the globe, at all times of the day, and they are always on the go.

What is the one thing all these employees have in common?  They all have a mobile.

Based solely in Belfast, this company has developed a SaaS platform and content management system that enables enterprise-grade, native mobile apps to be very quickly created, published and updated by non-technical people.

The apps are used by companies to inform, engage and enthuse their people.  More than half of the companies that currently use the platform are Blue Chip brands.

As of 2019, there are several hundred thousand end-users who use the platform and they all benefit from the instant communication and flexibility provided by the platform.

What does the job involve?

You will work alongside a senior tester to ensure that each Product Release is fully tested across multiple mobile devices, operating systems and web browsers.  This will involve using manual testing to ensure Functional UI and UX meets the specifications.  You will use regression testing techniques for each planned release of the product.  Part of the testing job will include assisting the product design team in defining production specifications.

This is not an automated testing position initially, but you will get to learn this skill by reviewing automated tests and assisting in their updates.

You’ll also work closely with the Client Success Manager to analyse any support or post-implementation issues raised by customers.

What skills and experience are essential?

You will need at least one year’s experience in a software testing position.  You’ll have an eye for detail, and you will understand the importance of good design and providing a good user experience.  You will have a strong technical background as well as being a good communicator.

If you want to stand out from the crowd, you’ll have experience testing both Mobile and Web Applications.  Any previous experience of Automated Testing and Test Tools such as Selenium would be impressive.
