Java Engineer (JEE) - Belfast
Do you have at least 5 years’ experience building enterprise-level web applications?
Does this experience include working with modern web front-end technologies?
We are looking for a Java Developer to take responsibility to design, implement, test and deploy a web-based application in a JEE (Apache Tomcat / Oracle JDK) environment.
You’ll be developing in a 3-Tier environment powered by JEE, REST/JSON and DI driven architecture.
You’ll be working in a varied role that will include working closely with internal and client IT personnel. You will analyse the client requirements and then develop the product enhancements and work to improve the overall functionality of the system.
You will be concentrating on two key products that are currently being used globally within the financial services.
These products are leading enterprise spend management software solutions.
You’ll be joining a global company that gives its customers the clarity they need to take control of all their market data, research, software and enterprise subscription spend across the enterprise. They are headquartered in New York with offices in London, Den Bosch, Belfast, and Minneapolis.
In June 2019, they bought over a local Belfast company. This is the third acquisition this company has made in the last 3 years. They now employ over 150 people worldwide.
Although they supply software into financial services and they have been doing this since 1998, they still manage to maintain the same energy of a start-up. They have a flat structure with no red tape, and they like to give as much autonomy to their technical staff as possible.
We would like to see applications from Java Developers with at least 3 years of commercial experience using Core and Java8 functional programming. You will need to have a familiarity with Spring Batch and the Spring Framework. Other technologies you should be comfortable using includes REST/JSON, JSP/Servlets, JEE, JDBC and Apache Tomcat or JEE app servers.
You will need strong communication skills for internal and external customer interaction with the ability to author technical documents, including design documentation, client-facing user documentation and release notes.
