Infrastructure Engineer (Azure)
Are you an infrastructure Engineer with over 2 years of hands-on practical experience years in designing, deploying, maintaining Azure solutions? Are you an expert in either Azure PaaS or Azure IaaS?
We are recruiting for an Azure Infrastructure Engineer for a software house working in the Mobile App space here in Belfast. Salary is negotiable (depending on experience) and includes pension, healthcare, 25 days holiday, a day off for your birthday, free fruit for office on a Monday and more.
Who is the client?
This firmly established software house has been operating out of Northern Ireland for over 25 years. Around 10 years ago they developed a mobile workforce enablement platform that really changed the direction of the company and made them one of the major software houses in Belfast.
The whole ethos of this mobile platform is to help people do more of the work that matters. It is used by health providers, local government and organisations across the private and public sectors, it ensures that your field workforce has access to all the information they require, via an intuitive mobile app, to get the job done. It ensures that organisations increase employee productivity, maximises time spent with clients, reduces the cost of field service delivery, reduces employee travel time and much more.
In 2015, a London-based capital firm bought a stack in this software house. This firm has an excellent track record of growing successful global firms and cements the future of the company. They now employ over 170 people locally but still maintain a very supportive and collaborative working environment. Many of the senior staff has been with the company for a long time which provides stability in the workforce.
What is the purpose of this job?
This is a senior engineer position, co-located with the Development Team with a significant focus on Azure to help drive and support our roadmap to ensure all software is fully cloud-native.
What skills are essential?
You will need at least 2 years hands-on practical experience years in designing, deploying, maintaining Azure solutions. This should include either Azure PaaS (Azure SQL, Web Apps, Service Bus, Storage Accounts, Logic Apps) or Azure IaaS (virtual machines, network security groups, Azure Site Recovery, Availability sets, Traffic Manager).
You should have experience designing and deploying enterprise-scale, complex cloud infrastructure solutions that include both Windows and Linux Servers. Experience in defining architecture and requirements for SaaS and Hosting solutions would be useful for this position. Although the focus on this position will be providing Azure direction, the successful candidate will also build, implement, and manage automated service monitoring, diagnostics, alerts, system management dashboards and service management processes.
