Who is the company?
My client is a young company that focuses on digital product development. They are experts in product management and strategy including user research, design, analytics and optimisation. Essentially, they are a digital product studio who partner with global businesses to start-ups to ensure that they keep ahead of the competition.
They are one of the best-kept secrets in the digital community here in Belfast. Although they are relatively new to the industry some of there products are already in use by over 350 million people. They work with global brands such as Manchester United, Starbucks and Heineken.
They have just secured two major contracts which has prompted the current recruitment drive. One of these contracts is with a major sports organisation based in Ireland. My client will be designing and developing a mobile application which will generate around 200 million euros over the next three years. If projections are correct, one in four people in Ireland will be using this application once it is completed and rolled out.
What is the working environment like?
They boast of a highly flexible and relaxed working environment that has a competitive and ambitious undercurrent. Developers are expected to manage their own time effectivity. There will be no micromanaging here. Developers are also given the freedom to work with technology that they think will benefit a project. They have a very flat structure in place and keep meetings to an absolute minimum. They prefer their developers to be developing software.
They like to be as transparent with clients, giving them full insight on the progress of their project, so developers are expected to deal with clients directly.
If you successfully gain employment with this company, you will be joining a first-class talent pool who work on top-end global projects in a collaborative and fun environment. Developers are encouraged to take the lead, work autonomously and have fun while doing it.
What skills are essential for this job?
