This DevOps job is based in Belfast city centre and comes with a salary range of £55k - £65k per annum. This includes a 5% contributory pension, healthcare, clear career progression opportunities and the chance to be apart of a global team.
Who is the company?
My client provides an end-to-end product innovation platform for retailers and suppliers that simplifies the product creation and delivery process to bring great products to market faster, more efficiently, and at higher margins. It combines digital B2B Marketplace, Product Lifecycle Management, Sourcing, Purchase Order, Global Trade Management, and Sales Order into one interface. Some of their key customers include America Eagle and Adidas. They have a growing number of customers in Asia and Europe and have set up an office in Belfast to help service these customers. They have plans to recruit 75 people over the next 4 years.
The bulk of these new jobs will focus on software development and engineering. The plan is to test and develop new products for the existing platform. They are experts in “to scale investments”. This basically means they don’t plan to set up an office for the short term. This is a business that has been established for 17 years and they set up global locations with the long term in mind. Recently, they set up an office in India which has now 75 people on board. Their other offices include Atlanta, Boston, London, and Hong Kong.
What does the job involve?
We are looking for an experienced DevOps Engineer who can bring ideas to the table and put in place cutting-edge development practices. Someone who has worked in an environment that is fast paced and entrepreneurial. You will be asked to improve on the technical operation that is currently in place and automate current processes. This is a prominent role in the operations here in Belfast that will report directly to the Head of Infrastructure in Boston. The plan is to hire two more team members over the next 12 months. This is a chance to really add value to a new team in Belfast by building the right infrastructure tools, automating the application pipeline, and help the development team to help engineer first-class software.
What are the essential skills?
To be considered for this job you need to have worked in a DevOps or Systems Admin role for several years. This experience will include working with AWS or Azure. A background in object-oriented programming is needed along with a familiarity with databases.
