Development Team Lead
Are you a software developer with over 8 years commercial experience who has experience leading a team? Are you looking for a job that will enable you to provide technical direction but also allow you to code and stay ‘hands-on’? Are you an expert on the .NET stack of technologies?
This Lead Software Developer job is based in Belfast and comes with a salary of £50k - £60k per annum. Other benefits include share options, flexible working environment, private health care, pension, childcare vouchers, and more.
Who is the company?
My client is a local company that is now firmly established as one of the most exciting software houses in Belfast. They have an impressive global client base that can be found in the FTSE top 100 companies. 2018 was a huge growth year and 2019 looks to be even more impressive.
Around ten years ago, my client developed a cloud platform that gives non-technical people the ability to create, publish and update their own mobile apps. Initially, my client targeted the end user directly but they realised that blue-chip companies could use this platform to quickly develop apps to inform, enthuse or even train their workforce. For example, previously it would be unthinkable for a company to develop a training app for the workforce that operates in a warehouse. However, with this cloud-platform, they can quickly create enterprise level, native mobile apps for any purpose at a fraction of the cost.
What goes this job involve?
We are seeking a dynamic software developer who has the right level of experience to provide technical direction to a team. This is not a people management position but very much a hands-on software development job that will give you a strategic voice in the direction of the team and the company overall.
The successful software developer will provide leadership and coaching to the product team while developing the SAAS product using the .NET stack of technologies. This will be done in an AGILE environment. You will also help define the future evolution of the product and work directly with the COO to prioritise work between product development and client support. 2019 is going to be another year of expansion for my client so you will also be involved in the recruitment of new developers.
What skills are essential?
You will need at least 8 years commercial experience using C#, ASP.Net (MVC) or similar along with an understanding of software development best practices. You will need experience of managing a team. A proven track record of developing commercial applications using .NET along with SQL and the entity framework is required. You need to be able to plan, schedule and prioritise work activities in order to meet time and quality targets.
