Development Project Manager (Wind and battery storage) £35-40K

Did you know that Renewable energy currently creates 5 times more jobs than fossil fuels? (ovoenergy.com)

Governments across the world have committed to ambitious energy targets financially investing heavily in the industry.

The pandemic accelerated renewable energy usage and saw a decline in traditional energy usage and omissions.

11.5mil people were employed in the renewable energy sector in 2019 up from only 1.7mil in 2004 (IRENA).

So what does this all mean to you?

If you are already working within the renewable energy sector you are in a strong position to grow your career in an industry set for unrivalled growth. As an industry that hasn’t slowed but rather gained paced during the pandemic, forging ahead with new innovative technologies, you’ll get to be involved in many “firsts”.

With this company you’ll be involved in both Wind farms and Battery storage projects on a local level. They value everyone equally and profit will never over-ride the company’s climate protection aims so you’ll be genuinely helping to save the planet.

You’ll be involved in managing the company’s wind farm and battery storage project portfolio from initial site selection through the EIA process to post planning and pre-construction compliance requirements. You will engage and manage consultants, prepare and coordinate planning applications and appeal documents establishing contacts with local authorities. You will manage invoice and payment schedules of projects and deliver projects on time and within budget.

You’ll likely have a degree in planning/ environmental or engineering discipline with ¾ years PQE experience. You’ll have experience of planning and development of major infrastructure projects. You’ll have excellent project management experience, be strong on the preparation of EIA and have excellent communication skills working with numerous stakeholders. You’ll have strong IT skills, with experience of Microsoft, ArcGIS as well as invoicing software. You’ll be proactive in identifying new opportunities and generate innovative solutions to obstacles working on your own initiative.
