Business Development Manager – The Role

 

Acting as BDM for a newly established national fit-out business, with considerable parent company backing, this is an excellent opportunity to bring a new and highly sought after end-to-end proposition to the local market place, resulting in clients being freed of the stresses of multiple suppliers and contracts, benefitting from cost efficiencies, greater expertise and  schemes completed on time and to schedule every time.

 

The Day to Day:

 

  • Mapping the market into the main sectors: office occupiers, owners, providers at all stages of usage, major & sub-contractors & up-coming tender opportunities.
  • Identifying and qualifying new business opportunities, aligned with company strategy.
  • Following up on inquiries coming into the business.
  • Carrying out initial estimations, pricing and rudimentary design schemes – to be further enhanced by an experienced inhouse design team.
  • Assisting in the creation of compelling full design proposals  
  • Accurate forecasting & pipelining.
  • Networking in the local market-place.
  • Collaborating with marketing, to raise the business and your personal profile.
  • Work in a fully consultative way with clients on their aspirations for their working environments, their current and future staff numbers, typical and proposed activities for their interior spaces and related future ambitions.
  • Keeping on top of office/commercial interior trends and technologies and strive to be a respected source of information in the sector.
  • Managing client relationship, effective regular communication and troubleshooting where possible.
  • Information gathering/cross-selling for future business and the wider group divisions.
  • Working with clients for case studies to further your success in the territory.

 

The Skills Required:

 

  • + 5 years demonstrable successful New Business sales experience gained within the construction/Interiors/specification market.
  • Astute strategic mind, self-managing and hunter work ethic.
  • Confident in engaging with contacts across all industry sectors (warm and cold leads).
  • Design-minded, with ability to create initial schemes as sales tools.
  • Commercially aware, with a demonstrated ability to leverage service over margin.
  • Aspirational, ready to take on a challenge with unlimited possibilities.
  • Basic knowledge of design software packages.

 

Desirable:

 

  • Previous new business interior fit out sales experience.
  • Strong network of NI construction contacts

 

Remuneration:

 

  • Senior level Base salary & Bonus.
