Senior Back-End Developer – Belfast (£50k - £60k)
A new US software house is setting up here in Belfast and they need several Senior Back-End Developers.
Ideally, you will have experience in Java but we would also consider developers from other disciplines such as C# or C++ who would like to cross-train into Java.
You must be confident in your approach and be able to stand by your code.  You will have strong communication skills and be able to mentor and coach junior developers.
If you have a technical, entrepreneurial mind then this job is worth considering.  You will be joining the company at the ground level and you will play a key part in building a software house which will have a major presence in Belfast.
Their aim is to create an environment in Belfast where ideas are shared and brought to life. It is a place where communication will be open, collaboration will be key and new skills and tech stacks will be there to learn.
You will be joining a company that will have all the energy and excitement of a start-up but with the stability and job security of working with a globally established business.
You will be working with a large, diverse portfolio of clients across multiple sectors utilising the latest technologies.  You will have the opportunity to test yourself by working on different tech stacks and learning new skills.
Daily responsibilities
You will have a big impact on the firm across several businesses. You’ll write code, help evolve and shape the architecture and frameworks, and have opportunities to take on new, complex problems.
The environment is fast-paced and collaborative, and though the current project is written in Java and deployed to EKS, you will routinely encounter and work in different languages, frameworks, and systems.
They value engineers who are proficient in multiple languages because they know they can quickly learn the next one that comes up. They have recently written software in Java, Golang, and Python.
Skills you will need
You will have 4+ years' experience as a software engineer.  Ideally, this experience will include working in a multi-person development team, doing code reviews, testing, CI, trunk-based development, and/or other modern software practices. You will have a strong proficiency and in-depth understanding of at least one of the following core languages: Java, Go, C++, or C# and at least one secondary language.
A very competitive salary is on offer including pension (7%), private health and dental, flexible hours and more.
You can send a CV using the links provided. Do not worry if it is not updated, we can address that later.
