Application Developer (C#/.NET)
Why should you consider a software development job in financial services?
The answer is normally simple. The money!
There are other reasons though. You would get to work on high performance, responsive and scalable systems. Lots of opportunity for architecture, design, automation, caching strategies and so on.
The downside is that you can get treated like just a number. At the end of the day, it is a finance company and you’re ultimately a cost of doing business.
The difference in working in a tech company is that you ARE the business.
The good news is that now you can have the best of both worlds!
You have the chance to join a global software company that supplies software solutions into financial services.
This company would employ around 150 people across 5 locations around the globe. They are big enough to have the right levels of investment and infrastructure but small enough to be agile and dynamic.
They have recently bought over a local tech company and they have plans to make Belfast the central hub for all software development.
You would be working on a platform that provides a centralised system that allows companies to manage and analyse their research and information subscriptions. It’s a platform with multiple components including web service APIs, web applications, browser extensions, windows services, cloud services, mobile apps, etc.
The salary on offer is up to £46k per annum and the package includes a bonus, flexible working hours, remote working options and more.
